Throughout history, the path towards growing a city into a community has been closely tied to infrastructure… especially the infrastructure of travel. Are high-speed electric vehicle charging stations the next great moneymaker for small towns everywhere?
After having written about the importance of county markets / groceries to rural areas, I dig in for a quick case study of those in the southern-middle-Tennessee area, within about a half hour radius from my office.
The story is as old as time... the haves and the have-nots. What are the things standing in the way of small towns coming into their own?
This isn't about big-box retailers like Kroger, Publix, or Stop-N-Shop. This is about the rural phenomena that I feel is already and potentially could be an even bigger physical location for the introduction and distribution of technology in rural environments.
